Abertay Biomedical Science Society
The ABMSS aims to provide a safe, inclusive and fun space for people of any background to come together. Although our main focus will be on Biomedical Science (BMS), we (the society) welcome everybody and will not refuse membership to eligible students. We aim to provide members with information regarding placement and job opportunities, professional progression pathways, the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and course-specific assistance. We also endeavor to generate a platform for students to share resources in the hopes of increasing awareness of the various academic/career routes each student may undertake. The society hopes to host a range of social events as well including but not limited to: charity fundraisers; question and answer sessions; social dances; movie nights and society congregations.
We believe in treating everybody (members and non-members) with kindness, courtesy, respect, an open mind and being supportive of each other. The main objective of the ABMSS is to allow Biomedical Science students at Abertay to feel included and supported. This is not to say that BMS students are not supported at Abertay, it is only to provide these students with any additional peer support they may require. We expect this in turn to benefit the Abertay community as a whole by creating a strengthened support and social network.
