What made you choose to join the PokeTay Society?

Hilariously, when I joined, I had never finished a Pokémon game – in fact, I’d never even started one (Except Go). But, I loved Pokémon designs – especially the adorable ones. And so I wanted to know more about them! Before I knew it, in my first year of uni, I was secretary of the society! I love Pokémon, it’s now one of my special interests.

If you could have any Pokémon as your real-life companion, which one would you choose and why?

My heart says Bulbasaur. He’s small, he’s round, he’s literally me. *However* if I had the opportunity to have a Dialga, I’m hardly going to say no. He too is round, but he’s literally the devil and very powerful, and who doesn’t want the devil as their companion? Plus, he can fly.

If you were a Gym Leader in the Pokémon world, what type of Pokémon would you specialise in, and what would be your signature battle strategy?

I think you might have already figured this one out – I'd be a grass-type gym leader. Obviously, I’d have a Bulbasaur as my ace – since grass gyms are usually the first gyms, I’d have fairly low-level Pokémon. My signature battle strat would simply have to be having Pokémon too adorable that nobody would want to battle against. 9I am not *good* at Pokémon)

If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality or legality, what would you choose and why?

This is easy – I would have a raccoon! They're like cats but also have canine qualities. Plus, they have little grippy feet and I would like to hold one's hand.

If you could have any superpower for a day, what would you choose and how would you use it?

I’d definitely choose teleportation. I’d go all around the world to places that would usually be impossible for me to enter – I'd teleport into the air and let myself fall into the ocean, I’d explore countries that usually aren’t safe for trans people and teleport right back out, just to see them. I’d see every corner of the world and not sleep to make sure I could see all of it. Give me another day before to plan, though.

What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done or would like to do in the future?

I have bungee jumped! In New Zealand. It was certainly an odd experience, and I probably wouldn’t do it again – I don’t like to test my luck. Once is enough!
