What made you choose to join RMAS?
The group is fun and inviting, and It's an excellent way to be active during the week between and the uni stuff.
What initially sparked your interest in RMA (HEMA)?
It was watching Blair (Our leading commander) using a sword during my first-year freshers fair, displaying techniques and explaining what he was doing and why. It was also the chance to actually learn how to use a sword and fight someone with it.
Do you have a favourite historical weapon or fighting style within HEMA and why does it appeal to you?
My personal favourite "weapon" is the sickle/dual sickle, and enjoy it because of how you have to fight unconventionally compared to almost every other weapon we learn in RMAS.
Have you ever participated in an RMA (HEMA) and what was the most enjoyable part of the experience?
I have participated in several tournaments. The experience as a whole is very fun, with being able to fight each other in a test of skill and technique, with a proper sparand in such a competitive setting.
What's your favourite board game or video game, and what makes it so enjoyable for you?
Some of my favourite games are the Horizon series (Zero Dawn and Forriben West), mainly for the world-building and aesthetics within the game.
If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality or legality, what would you choose and why?
It would have to be some kind of bird, as I've always had a fascination with them. Probably something like a crow or raven, smaller, smart and very pretty.
If you could have any superpower for a day, what would you choose and how would you use it?
Shapeshifting without a doubt. I would spend the day just changing how I look and see what fits, and also see if I could give myself some wings.
