What made you choose to join the Biomedical Science Society?

-

What initially sparked your interest in Biomedical Science, and what aspects of the field do you find most fascinating or rewarding?

I have always been interested and passionate about health and science and initially decided to study Nutrition but after feeling more of a yearning for science I chose to move course. After researching what courses were out there, I came across Biomedical Science and it ticked all the boxes. I think that the most rewarding aspect of this field is how crucial biomedical scientists are for aiding doctors in treating and helping patients.

Are there any specific cases, TV shows or books that ignited your curiosity about biomedical science?

I don’t have any shows or books that ignited my curiosity about Biomedical Science specifically but shows like Grey's Anatomy were part of my becoming interested in health and science.

If you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be and why?

I would live in the world of Harry Potter as I grew up reading the books and watching the films and completely fell in love with the wizarding world.

What's your favourite board game or video game, and what makes it so enjoyable for you?

My favourite boardgame is Balderdash as it is a game that we played a lot as a family. It is always a good laugh and I have so many fun memories of family game nights. There is a lot of bluffing and creativity and it gets funnier the older my siblings and I get.

If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality or legality, what would you choose and why?

I am insanely boring, but I would love to have a cat, more specifically a tabby Bengal cross. My parents have one and he is the most adorable cat in the world. I grew up with pets and not having one whilst living away from home is quite odd. A slightly more interesting answer would be a dolphin as I think they are fascinating, but I am happy to see them in the wild.

What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done or would like to do in the future?

The most adventurous thing I have ever done is travel to Australia solo at 17. It was absolutely terrifying but one of the most amazing things I have ever done> I saw and learned so much about the world as well as myself.
