What made you choose to join the Biomedical Science Society?

I am on the biomedical science course and wanted to get involved with pushing the biomedical society forward for the future years.

 

What initially sparked your interest in Biomedical Science, and what aspects of the field do you find most fascinating or rewarding?

I wanted to work in a medical environment however didn’t aim to become a doctor. I researched courses in the field of medicine and came across biomedical science, which seemed like the perfect fit for what I wanted to focus on.
I am intrigued by the very rapid advancements happening within medicine and would like to experience them myself when working in laboratories.

 

Are there any specific cases, TV shows or books that ignited your curiosity about biomedical science?

I liked to watch medicine-related shows when I was young like monsters inside me, and that made me very curious about how disease can affect the human body and how that can be treated.

 

How does being part of the Biomedical Science Society enhance your understanding and passion for the field?

Being surrounded by other individuals who take an interest in the same things as me has helped me learn more about the different aspects of the field and different career paths that can be taken after. It makes me appreciate how skilled biomedical scientists can become in their field.

 

If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future, and why?

Into the future, as I’d like to see if we do manage to make contact with other life in the universe.

 

If you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be and why?

I’d love to own a cottage in middle earth, because it seems very care-free, and the views are stunning.

 

If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality or legality, what would you choose and why

An owl, because I always wanted one since I was a child.
