What made you choose to find the Miku Society?
I was talking with my friend Lewis about the Miku expo and how it was going to be such a great environment with a bunch of Miku fans in one place, and the idea of a cult- I mean, society appreciating Miku would be amazing! Then, thoughts of creating projects related to Miku and other Vocaloids sounded so cool to me. Bringing people happiness is a part of my motivation for going into game design, and who brings more joy to life than Miku? Creating projects and appreciating Vocaloids would bring me so much joy, and I want to spread it like an infection! I will infect Abertay with the Miku Virus!
What drew you to Hatsune Miku and the Vocaloid community?
The overall wholehearted and upbeat atmosphere, the music, and the community put me in a better mood anytime I interact with it. The anime-style characters, their unique voices, styles, and personalities, and the wide variety of genres got me hooked immediately. I got fully into Vocaloid during my exam season, and not gonna lie; Vocaloid kept me going mentally during that time.
If you could introduce someone new to Hatsune Miku, which song or project would you show them first?
There are multiple ways to introduce people to Miku. You must entice people by what genre they most resonate with. As my general one, I would probably suggest something like Oedo Julia Night as it’s one of my favourite songs as it shows off the flashy and upbeat nature of Vocaloid and how it can put fun spins into the genre. Maybe Ghost Rule for something to bang your head to. Or best of all a M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE SHOT! If you want PURE MIKU EUPHORIA PUMPED STRAIGHT INTO YOUR BLOODSTREAM. (Bonus points if you see it LIVE)
If Miku had her own reality TV show, what would it be about?
It would be the best sitcom in the world where Miku and her friends would get into goofy situations. They would solve it with either the power of Music and teach morals such as the power of friendship! It would run every day in the morning for 39 minutes so that everyone could start the day with happiness!
If you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be and why?
I would honestly love to go to a fantasy world with magic and monsters because I’d love to be able to learn the lore and lifestyle of those worlds… Honestly, I want to be an Isekai protagonist.
What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done or would like to do in the future?
Venture outside my room :’D (Honestly, though, I want to have a road trip in Japan with a group of friends and experience the wonders of Japan, including a Magical Mirai concert)
If you could be any fictional character for a day, who would you choose and why?
Monkey D Luffy, being able to explore the world with such freedom and power with an attitude and personality that I can match would be so fun. Who’s going to stop me from being the real-life pirate king!? The Navy? Nah, I’d win.
