Warm Meals and Community Support This Christmas

Dundee’s community projects are here to ensure no one goes hungry this winter. From Monday 22nd December 2025 to Sunday 4th January 2026, a range of local initiatives will be offering free or low-cost meals, food bags, and essential items to support individuals and families during the holidays.

Highlights include:

• Newfield Café (71 Lothian Crescent, DD4 0RN)
Open daily 9am–4pm throughout the holiday period, serving homemade soup and treats. Donations welcome.
 

• Just Bee (Meadowside St. Paul’s Church, 118 Nethergate, DD1 4EH) for Hot Lunches & Drop-ins:

     ⚬ 22nd Dec: 11am–1pm

     ⚬ 23rd Dec: 11am–1pm

     ⚬ 24th Dec: 11am–1pm

     ⚬ 25th Dec for Christmas Lunch: 11am–1pm (Booking required via Facebook or call 07743 816540).

     ⚬ 29th Dec: (12pm–2pm) for soup & pudding.

 

• Lochee Community Larder & Café (15 Whorterbank, DD2 3AB)
Open 22nd Dec, 29th Dec, 2nd Jan – 11am–2pm
Affordable food bags and a free café offering breakfast and lunch.
 

• Eagles Wings Food Van
Every evening 7pm–8pm at Constitution Road, providing free food bags, soup, tea, and coffee.
 

• Dundee & Angus Foodbank (St Johns Episcopal Church, 110 Albert St, DD4 6QN)
Open 22nd Dec, 23rd Dec, 29th Dec, 30th Dec – 12pm–4pm
Emergency 3-day food parcels (by referral only – call 01382 698020).

Plus many more larders, fridges, and community groups across the city providing fresh produce, toiletries, and warm meals.

Whether you need a helping hand or want to share a meal with others, these projects are open to everyone.
