Society Annual General Meetings 🧩

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Every Society is required to hold an AGM no later than the end of May each year. Two weeks notice of the AGM should be given to members of the date of the meeting.

At the meeting, the society aims of the constitution should be discussed and ratified, and the new Committee elected. The constitution form should be completed and the minutes of the meeting should be sent to societies@abertay.ac.uk.

Electing your committee

Handover

Members of the outgoing Committee will provide a handover to the new Committee, which will include:

  • Informing the Students Association of the new committee members details;
  • Granting access to all Society accounts;
  • Signing the constitution; and
  • Providing the new Committee with any important information relevant to the Society.

Emergency General Meeting (EGM)

If a member of your Committee stands down from their role during the academic year, you will need to hold an EGM to elect a new member.

The EGM rules for election will follow the same process as the Annual General Meeting.
