What made you choose to join the Abertay Comics Society?
I've always been interested in comics and manga, and when presented with the opportunity to be part of the ACS committee I jumped at the chance. I'm excited to share my favourites and learn about new series from others, and ACS is the best way to do that!!
If you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be and why?
I would choose to live in the world of Transformers, specifically on Cybertron or one of its moons. The architecture there is beautifully depicted in many continuities and comic series. If I just ignore the multi-million-year civil war going on there I'll probably be fine.
If you could have any superpower for a day, what would you choose and how would you use it?
I would definitely have the superpower of shapeshifting so that I can try my hand at being animals or alien species, or even just changing parts of my appearance; like changing the colour of my hair without the effort of dyeing it, or giving myself pointed and different ears, or funky eye colours.
If you could be any fictional character for a day, who would you choose and why?
I would definitely choose to be Bumblebee from Transformers Animated. The idea of hanging out with the rest of the space bridge repair crew (Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Prowl) and Sari sounds like great fun, as well as the fact that I'd be getting to be a literal transformer!!!
What is your favourite comic, manga, or graphic novel, and why?
Transformers. Dreamwave Productions' Transformers: Armada, IDW Publishing's Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye, and Skybound Entertainment's Transformers. 'Nuff said.
Who's your favourite comic artist/mangaka?
Daniel Warren Johnson! His work on Transformers (Skybound Entertainment) is incredible. I love the quality and variety of lines that he uses in his art, and the panels he draw have such a texture to them, I love to see his work.
What's your favourite adaptation?
My favourite adaption would probably have to be Nimona. The animation style really did the characters justice in their personalities and appearances, and the movie is great fun too.
