What made you choose to join ASCENT?
I wanted to share my interests with people at the uni and meet like minded people who enjoy hiking and climbing.
What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done or would like to do in the future?
The most adventurous thing I've ever done was hiking through the Austrian Alps (Lenggries to Neckargemund) in July 2024. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but most definitely an amazing trip.
If you could have any superpower for a day, what would you choose and how would you use it?
If I could have any superpower for a day, it would be teleportation. I love to travel so the choice was obvious, and being able to explore anywhere to my hearts desire even if I only had a day to see them would be incredible. I live to experience.
If you could be any fictional character for a day, who would you choose and why?
If I could be any fictional character, I would definitely choose to be Mori Buntarou, aka the climber, just to experience the memories of his amazing feats, not to mention the world class mountaineering ability that comes with it.
Favourite way to unwind?
I like to unwind by bouldering because you can take it at your own pace, and it's such a social sport, so it's a great way to spend time with friends. If I'm not up for bouldering, I might read a book or play video games to relax.
Favourite song?
My favourite song changes all the time, but at the moment it would have to be Adult Diversion by Alvvays, Chains & Whips by Clipse or Somewhere in Between by Blood Orange.
What first got you into climbing?
I started bouldering after a friend suggested it to complete the physical section of the duke of edinbrugh award and I havent looked back since.
