What made you choose to join the Women in Games Society?

I am dedicated to promoting gender diversity and inclusion within the gaming industry and am passionate about connecting with and supporting other women who share my enthusiasm for making, teaching and playing games. My goal is to understand the unique challenges women face in this field and to find effective solutions to address them while building an inclusive community where women can feel safe and heard.

What initially sparked your interest in game development, and what are some of the most rewarding aspects of creating your own video games?

My interest in game development was sparked by a combination of my love for storytelling and my fascination with technology. The most rewarding aspect for me is seeing players emotionally engaged with the worlds and stories I create.

If you could be transported into a game, which one would it be? Which character would you be and why?

I would choose to be Lara Croft in "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" to explore ancient ruins and solve complex puzzles using strength and resourcefulness. Lara Croft has redefined female protagonists in gaming, transitioning from unrealistic portrayals to more relatable and empowered representations, which is a cause we strive to support as a society.

What makes a good video game, in your opinion?

A good game effectively incorporates themes that encourage players to think critically about social, historical, or ethical issues. By exploring complex subjects, the game promotes deeper contemplation and understanding. Well-crafted environments enhance this experience by transporting players to different eras or speculative futures, engaging them in interactions that challenge their viewpoints. While core elements like gameplay and narrative are essential, integrating thought-provoking themes elevates a game, turning it into an inspirational, personal, and educational experience that lingers with players long after they've finished playing.

If you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be and why?

Harry Potter....because magic.

If you could have any superpower for a day, what would you choose and how would you use it?

Time manipulation - I would pause time to catch up on sleep and finish all my pending tasks without any rush, go on holiday whenever I needed a break and go back in time to correct mistakes or stop bad things from happening.

If you could have any animal as a pet, regardless of practicality or legality, what would you choose and why?

Ducks. Many many ducks. Every kind of duck. Maybe even all the ducks. I like ducks.
